On Monday, July 19, at 1:00 PM, the City Council will hear a presentation regarding the proposed "Dust Control" ordinance.  Although the building industry will have several opportunities in the months ahead to make its position known on this proposal, we suggest that builders, developers, contractors, and others who are concerned about the severe impact of additional and very costly regulation in today's economic climate be prepared on Monday to make your voices heard.

The draft ordinance is available here, as is a copy of the agenda for Monday's meeting.  Please note that this topic will be presented early in the meeting, under the "Presentation on Erosion Control" segment of the opening ceremonies.  Parts of the draft ordinance are simply astonishing in terms of the magnitude of control that government regulators would be able to exercise over your daily private business.  You are urged to read the draft and to stay informed and active on this issue.
